Helping the Self Employed

Helping the Self Employed

Mrs D had set up a new business a few months ago and had become self-employed for the first time. Over the last few months she had been focusing on getting her business up and running, and therefore had not given much attention to her accounts and tax affairs.

When she came to see us, Mrs D was concerned that she had not been keeping proper accounting records and was becoming increasingly worried about the potential tax implications of her self-employed income. We were able to explain to Mrs D what income and expenditure records she needed to keep and explain her tax position clearly, to put her mind at ease.

As part of our service we also advised Mrs D about all the additional expenses she was entitled to claim relief on, ensuring that she minimises her tax liabilities. Mrs D now has peace of mind that her accounts and tax affairs are in order and that she can rely on Gibbons Mannington & Phipps LLP to complete and submit her Tax Return correctly and on time and can instead spend her valuable time growing her business.
