Audit and Accounts Senior

Due to continued growth we are currently recruiting for a qualified or part qualified ACA or ACCA with audit experience seeking public practice career development for our expanding firm. This is a full time position.

We will consider a qualified AAT with audit experience or a minimum of 5 years’ practice experience.

The role will include the planning, detailed testing and completion of audits for small, medium and large companies and charities.

We are currently working remotely with the option of hybrid working once COVID restrictions have ended. You should ensure you can commute to Tenterden, Kent or Bexhill, East Sussex.

Salary £25,000 to £42,000 depending on experience including company pension and private medical insurance.

Main duties will include

  • Planning, detailed testing and completion of audits;
  • Preparation of accounts from client records;
  • Independent examinations for charities;
  • Preparation of tax computations;
  • Preparation and submission of company tax returns; and
  • Client interaction.

Tax Advisor and Compliance Role

Salary dependent on experience

GMP are looking for someone to join their Tenterden team in a role that will be varied in tax compliance and planning. The role will include working over a multitude of taxes, but mainly income tax and CGT for individuals and trusts, as well as IHT.

This role is for someone who can work closely with partners and the team on tax compliance for clients (personal and Trusts) and assist partners and the team with general tax matters, some review and problem solving/answer finding for others.

Applicants do not need to be experts in all stated areas of tax, but confident in problem solving and identifying tax issues to then research and resolve. The role could include additional training, where needed.

The applicant will need to train and review the work of more junior members of staff at times, and work closely with the tax partner on client facing compliance, and some tax planning projects and advisory work. 

Candidates will ideally be

  • ATT Qualified or CTA qualified, or qualified by experience in compliance
  • Have experience using Iris Accounts Suite
  • Motivated and adaptive to work remotely
  • Confident with their IT skills

The successful candidate will be based within the Tenterden Office Team and can either be office based entirely, or part office based part working from home, but attendance at the office will be required a minimum of 2 days per week.

It is possible that due to Covid 19 the applicant will start before our offices re-open. As a result, induction will be given remotely and training carried out via video call and screen sharing if in person training is not possible.

The role is open to applicants seeking a full time position, but applicants seeking a part time role with a minimum equivalent of four full days per week will be considered.

If an applicant is invited for interview, this will initially be carried out via video call. Second interviews will ideally be in person at our offices, but this will be Covid 19 dependent and under social distancing measures in place at the time.
